A Prayer for America And Her Churches
Adapted from Daniels prayer Daniel 9:4-19.
O Lord, our Father in heaven,
who keeps the covenant and mercy to them that love You,
and to them that keep Your commandments.
We have sinned, and have committed iniquity,
and have done wickedly, and have rebelled,
even by departing from Your precepts
and from Your judgments.
Neither have we hearkened unto Your beloved Son,
who speaks in Your name to our government leaders,
to our church leaders, to our fathers,
and to all the people of the land.
O Lord, righteousness belongs to You,
but unto us confusion of faces,
for we have trespassed against You,
by breaking our marriage vows,
by killing our babies before they are born,
and being guilty of great immoralities.
O Lord, to us belongs confusion of face,
to our leaders and to our fathers,
because we have sinned against You.
To You, Lord our God,
belong mercies and forgiveness.
But, we have rebelled against You,
and we have not obeyed Your voice,
O Lord our God, to walk in Your laws,
which You set before us by Jesus the Anointed One.
Yes, all America has transgressed Your law,
even by departing, that we may not obey Your voice,
therefore the curse is poured upon us,
and the oath that is written in Your word,
because we have sinned against you.
You have confirmed Your words,
which You spake against us,
and against our judges,
by bringing upon us great evil and judgment.
As it is written in Your Word,
all this evil is come upon us.
We have not made our prayers before You
that we might turn from our iniquities,
and understand Your truth.
Therefore, Lord You have seen our evil actions,
and brought it upon us.
You are righteous in all Your works which You do,
for we do not obey Your voice.
You brought us out of many lands with a mighty hand,
and You received renown in the greatest
Christian nation the world has ever known,
but now we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
O Lord, according to all Your righteousness,
I beseech You, let Your anger and Your fury
be turned away from America and her churches,
because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers,
we have become a reproach to all that are about us.
For the sake of Your name, O our God,
hear the prayer of Your servant, and our supplications,
and cause Your face to shine upon America
that is becoming desolate.
O my God, incline Your ear, and hear;
open Your eyes, and behold our desolation,
and the country that once was called Christian.
We do not present our supplications
before You for our righteousness,
but for Your great mercies
and for Your name's sake.
O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive;
O Lord, hearken and do;
defer not, for Your own sake,
O Lord my God I plead for Your church
and Your people who are called by Your name,
to forgive and bless us.
We pray in the precious name of Jesus,
Your beloved Son and our Savior. Amen
God's reply is:
"If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14.
"Yet I have set my king on my holy hill of Zion." I will tell of the decree. Yahweh said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father. Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel." Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him. Psalm 2:7-12 WEB
